How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? You put her on the stage to camp up the Sound of Music. Wait, camp up the campest musical ever shot? Well these girls from Melbourne have brought across their painfully funny take on Julie Andrews, (and Liza, and Marlene). With the most outragous children to take care of and their father who seems to have a problem of his own to solve, and there’s the unwanted attentions of the very lascivious Baroness, Maria has her work cut out for her. The miming is impeccable, the costumes are fast, furious and beautiful and the girls are just so much fun. There is so much personality trying to bust out of Ms Jessica James and the gang you cannot help but join in. The only D’OH! in this gem of a show down is the stage it’s set on. The Winebar is too small and awkward a stage for this to be fun. I’ve seen the girls perform songs from this show on several other occasions and bigger is better darling!
