This is the story of Oscar, a selfindulgent and insecure ‘fuckwit’ who’s trying to cure his writers block. He liaises with his alterego Torin, in an attempt to breathe some life into his lacklustre efforts at romantic comedy. Oscar simultaneously attempts to use the power of prose to work through the demons in his staid relationship with Tess, who has become bored of watching him struggle with alcohol and lack of inspiration. The title of the show pertains to the last-ditch attempts couples go to when they realise a relationship is failing. The actors succeed in demonstrating the frustration of the main character as he struggles with trust, social standing and self-confidence. This show isn’t listed in the Fringe programme as it’s a last minute addition, but it’s worth seeing if you’re around early in the morning.
