*****

This show challenged every preconceived idea the audience had about Jesus, about the Bible and religion in general. Featuring a black woman as God and a gay man as Jesus, this show offered a very convincing alternative to the staccato version of events organised religion has fed the masses. Love and acceptance oozed from the pores of every one of these actors, and particularly poignant was the relationship between Jesus and Judas. This show can only be described as beautiful, and although at the start the tactile affections of the cast had me somewhat cynical, by the end I was deeply regretful of my earlier trepidations. The pure talent and genuine faith demonstrated by these actors was enough to warm the cockles of even the hardest heathen heart, and in this show I found the answer to questions I had always asked about how one could reconcile being gay and Christian. This show did not only meet its aim, it exceeded every expectation I had of it.
