I just wanted to give my deepest respect and stuff for your site. When I was a little girl, I had the usual shivery-spine thing from homosexuality because that's what I grew up with - it supposedly wasn't "natural" or something. As I've grown up though, I've found that love is love, whoever it's directed at. I've also come to terms with being bisexual myself. It took a bit of experimentation, but it worked out. do u think the scene is institutionally inherently racist?i'm an asian woman,i go on the gay scene in edinburugh or birmingham or london or glasgow and there are very few asian people on scene.but u meet loads from internet.whether they are butch,femme,out to their family,not out to their family,u just don't see them out on scene.i often get surprised looks and questions,'u can't b gay can u?what about ur parents?what about ur religion?'r the white gay people on scene just unfortunately more ignorant,narrow minded,self absorbed or what?catholic,protestant,judaism can have just as restricting if not more oppressive impact on same sex preference.if anything hinduism is positively more liberal if u read up on the mad enthusiastic hyper behaviour of kali and shiva.shiva once slept with krishna,a male god dressed as a woman.shiva being a man did this with full knowledge.or is it because the gay scene is so self obcessed with image?how many wheelchair users do u see?is it a hassle trying to get to know someone's culture before sleeping with them?is it a hassle trying to understand what someone who is deaf or with a verbal impairment is trying to say? would u rather just jump into bed with someone who looks as closely as possible to yourself?being part of gay asian mailing lists makes me aware.we have to deal with sexism,racism,anti-disability and homophobia.the series 'queer as folk', set in manchester,scene of some of the worst race riots in recent history showed a black man trying to wriggle his way into the great british homeland.none of the black characters being gay.i've been speaking to a lot of my liberal white friends and they also agree.u read 'pink paper','diva','gay times' and the racism and image obcession is blatant time and time again.glasgow,bless it,has become another hot bed for racial tensions very recently.When the polo lounge was barring asians because apparently they didn't spend too much money on drinks why didn't the gay press rise to attack?how many of these venues are disability accessible?but a lot of other straight bars have sexually active asians and those with disabilities going and enjoying themselves.i meet lots of gay asian women in glasgow but they're all indoors.bring them out.it is time for the scene to stop being elitist.

I'd just like to say the site looks great, it's nice to see some support for the gay community. I'm actually a hetrosexual female, but having many gay relations i feel quite strongly about the subject, i respect you guys a lot.

I'm only 15 (yes only 15) and i can tell you that in glasgow it has suddenly become a trend for a certain type of people around my age to be bi. They think they are gods gift because they can kiss someone of the same sex, although it is blatently obvious they are seeking attention.

Having such strong views on this subject has resulted in rumours being spread round my school that i'm a 'dyke', i get a lot of hassel for this as do a few of my friends, i hope in the future things will be different, and i'm happy to say i've seen good changes in attitude towards the gay community in my short life time.
